If you haven’t seen it yet, check out episode 2 of the Great Camera Shootout documentary by Zacuto. I just watched it and it is quite interesting to see how all well these cameras perform. From where I sit, its clear that we should all be able to create fabulous images with cameras in just about any price range. I am particularly impressed with the AF100 and F3 (and probably the FS100 had it been available for the test). These two camera’s offer a tremendous bang for the buck. As an owner operator, this kind a value is very important to me. (Although I’m lusting for an Alexa)
Each camera has it’s pros and cons and the concept of choosing the right tool for the job is getting very interesting. I can see a day when most projects will regularly employ multiple camera types – choosing the camera best suited for the given situation, much in the we choose lenses today.
