This video, from Magnanimous Media, demonstrates the Metabones Speed Booster EF to Micro 4/3 (BMPCC) adapter by comparing images with and without the speed booster. The first image utilizes a standard EF to Micro 4/3 (BMPCC) adapter (Dummy Adapter) and the second image was captured using the Metabones Speed Booster, the camera’s position and settings are left the same between each shot, the only change is which adapter is used.
They also performed a similar test with the GH4. As you would expect, these results are equally spectacular. One thing I noticed in each test is that the increase in image brightness is not very evident. I’m not sure if this is because the iris setting was adjusted to maintain good exposure when the speed booster was added. Or does it mean that the speed booster doesn’t offer all that much of an exposure bump. None the less, increase in field of view is certainly worth the price of admission.
